Buckeyes’ Six-Month Project Results in Impressive Collection of 360-Degree Campus Views
Skyway Interactive, a leader in producing custom-made virtual tours, today released a virtual tour featuring the athletic facilities of Ohio State University. Viewers can get an inside look at the Buckeyes’ gameday venues, practice facilities, locker rooms, and an aerial view of the campus through the interactive website at https://360.ohiostatebuckeyes.com. The immersive experience can be accessed by recruits, alumni, fans, and people worldwide through their computers or smartphones.
Ohio State initiated the project last summer, during which Skyway Interactive provided guidance capturing hundreds of 360-degree panoramic images using cameras and drones. The Buckeyes then submitted these photographs to Skyway Interactive, who subsequently edited and compiled them into a virtual tour on their platform.
This new virtual tour offers a variety of features, including:
- More than 150 separate 360-degree views
- Intuitive navigation to easily move from one facility space to the next
- Custom shareable links, allowing teams to begin the tour from their own facility
- A secondary website that highlights event rental spaces
“These virtual tours are such an incredible recruiting tool and Ohio State has some of the finest facilities in the NCAA, so this will really allow their coaches to showcase everything the Buckeyes have to offer. Prospective student-athletes will be able to get an up-close look at the facilities no matter where they are in the world,” said Jake Donahue, founder of Skyway Interactive.
Ohio State is committed to enhancing the virtual tour experience by constantly updating it with new 360-degree views. The school plans to add more images to the tour in the coming months, taking advantage of improved weather conditions and the availability of updated facilities. They will also incorporate additional multimedia, including videos, slideshows, and graphics.
This is the seventh school in the Big Ten that Skyway Interactive has worked with. They have also built virtual tours for Illinois, Michigan, Northwestern, Penn State, and Purdue. Other NCAA clients include Notre Dame, Kansas, USC, as well as almost half of the schools in the Power Five conferences.
